Cerro de Monserrate

10,341 feet above the city of Bogota is Monserrate, a mountain with a church at the top that was built in the 17th century.  The mountain can be hiked, but we took the easy and fun way up... we rode the teleferico (read: gondola).  Up top, we walked the beautiful gardens, browsed the souvenirs and has coffee and pastries...

On the way back down... kind of a cloudy day, but beautiful nonetheless.

  1. Wow...I love that picture of Jennie and the kiddos! So beautiful! And what an amazing little spot. So, I'm guessing Bruce is liking this little haven a bit more than Tegus! I do! :)

  2. Elisa~ We walked so much yesterday, his feet hurt! The altitude didn't help either. I can't say that I can speak for him about his favorites, but I do know that we all miss the warm caribbean. Life is full of trade-offs and we miss our neighbors too. Big kisses and hugs to your family!
