Isla del Tigre - Amapala

Not a lot of time to write... report cards, school meetings, life ... blah blah blah.
Here are some photos to our recent trip to Amapala.

The pier.

3 out of 4 of us got stung by jellyfish.  Linnea's arm seemed to show the signs of the stinging the worst.  And this was a couple of hours past the "jellyfish bite" incident, as she calls it.   We had to swim through a ... school of jellyfish? a swarm of jellyfish? a gaggle?  a pod?  No, that's not right.  Anyway, we had not choice but to swim through them get back to shore.  Carlito got stung, too.  Eric had to take two trips because he was ferrying kids on his back.  More pictures of Carlito to come...

The reason why we were swimming though a SMACK (thank you Google) of jellyfish was because we swam out to a cave with hundreds (thousands?) of bats... look closely and they're hanging from the rocks of the cave.

Creative use of grain sack on a structure on the beach.

Playing Crazy 8's with our new friend, Carlito.

View from the room.

  2. Nice 'n close... not like a drive across the country to get to a little water. Ha! But to be honest, it just doesn't compare to the week we spent with you.
