Yuscaran

To start - this is a toilet that we are little more accustomed to here in these parts.  Actually, this is misleading... there is a fat roll of toilet paper just ripe for the takin' sitting on top of the tank.  However, the seat is missing, which is typical.  We found this lovely throne at a campy restaurant we stopped at in Uyuca, on the way to Yuscaran.  Tasty plato tipico, a swing-set for the kids, a giant bull tied with a rope around its neck grazing next to the swing-set.  You know, typical Saturday lunch.

We made it to Yuscaran, a lovely little town about an hour southwest of the capital.  This town shares its name with the guaro type alcohol that is cheap and ever present in Honduras.  Mix it with Fresco or ? and you have a local "cocktail".  Drink at your own risk.

These pretty pictures are taken around el parque central, which was great for seeing the local humans and local dog population carry on with their typical Saturday activities.

Bougainvillea in full bloom!  This is a very common sight all around these days...

Linnea and Nirmala playing tag in the park and D and E sharing a bench.

Just in case we didn't remember the way, there is a clear sign to get us back to the capital...

  1. Did they actually put the sign on the correct corner? Is the arrow pointed in the right direction? Loving D's "The Thinker" pose.
